As Zannan saw the undead horde approach, he ran towards the front doors of the manor. The doors were crowded with panicked people trying to get in. As he glanced back at the horde, he recognized one of the zombies as a short woman wearing a distinctively white lab coat: the coroner they met earlier today. Beside her, the muscular and recently diseased Merek, now a zombie, slowly progressed towards the manor as well.
Meanwhile, very few guests made it inside the manor, where now general
panic started.
Esmee started asking everyone to help by shutting doors and windows, she
rushed to the front door along with a guard who helped with a barricade. Hazel
sent Trillion to try and stop the barricade, and help more civilians, to no
avail. Opinions among the guests were divided, some wanted to let people in,
others preferring to be safe from zombies and not caring about the people still
out there.
The few guards mention that because the guard captain wasn’t there
today, they didn’t really know if there was going to be extra security like
previous years, and they were a bit disorganized with their usual patrols. The
captain was the one who knew how to organize big events.
Eventually some of the people inside revealed themselves as vampires and a feeding frenzy started.
Some of the party members climbed on the roof top to fight the zombie horde from a distance. The crowd of zombies was defeated, however most civilians died. Merek’s zombie was commanded to walk 100 feet towards the town and stop.
Inside the manor, Jaren knew of an underground escape route from the pantry. This manor sometimes had refreshments and supplies delivered directly to the pantry by the tavern he works at. He helped a few people escape this way. He got Elenion’s attention, and with her help, another civilian got saved by escaping via tunnel.
The vampires inside the house also got defeated, but unfortunately a lot
of casualties resulted from this event. Hazel managed to heal some of the civilians
outside.
